NaPoWriMo Day 12! Today’s prompt was to write on why we love a dull object or alternatively, what would it mean to destroy a significant object. I chose the latter and opted to write on my jhula (swing in Hindi). A bit of background about my jhula: It is a replicate of a Sindhi jhula that belonged to my grandmother which she brought to India after Partition. Passed down from daughter to daughter, the original is with my aunt and is over 100 years old. Although my replica is a younger sibling, it has been in my family for generations and so I decided to pen down how I would feel if I ever had to destroy my jhula.
